Benny got word while sharing the mats with us last night that his opponent has pulled out of the fight due to a ruptured appendix. Dan took 2nd today in an invitation only 8 man open weight brown belt tournament. The talent pool included many top competitors and at 149LBS he was the lightest athlete on the podium!

New enrollment for our Kid’s program (7-13) will be put on indefinite hold starting 11/15. We will focus our resources on existing students to ensure each student receives quality instruction.

Dan had a busy weekend serving as commentator for BudoVideo’s PPV broadcast of the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo. For much of the weekend, Dan and BudoDane provided commentary on the Brown and Black belt invitational grand Prix. For the superfights, Dan was joined in the booth by the one and only Braulio Estima! Dan provided approximately 15 hours of commentary for the event and the replay which features superfights including Jake Shields, Jon Fitch, Caio Terra, Joao and Paulo Miyao, Keenan Cornelius, Lucas Leite and more can be found on BudoVideos.com.

To celebrate our 1 year anniversary, we are hosting an adult gi friendship tournament on October 12th! The cost is only $30 and will feature IBJJF rules and IBJJF certified refs. Weigh ins will be at 9:00AM-9:30AM with a rules meeting at 9:30AM. The tournament will start at 10AM american time. There is no charge for spectators. Weight divisions will likely be consolidated so each division has more competitors. Pay at the weigh ins and email your weight, belt and academy to [email protected] to register. Registration Price increases to $40 on October 5th. 

Both Khiem and Mikey placed 3rd at American Nationals today. Great job guys!
