Today we held a no gi parent and child class in place of our regular kids class. It was great for the kids to drag their parents on the mat and put them through the “warm ups” and sparring! A good time was had by all.

After well over 4 years of training, Marissa earned her yellow belt! Great job!
Paulo and Miyao are using Brea Jiu-Jitsu as their so cal headquarters for the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam LA. Here is a picture from this mornings 7AM training.

With 1 win, Matt took 3rd place in the masters 5 (50-54!) world championships.
After Steveo took default gold in his masters 6 weight division (55+!) and with 1 win took silver in the absolute.
Though Joe didn’t place in the masters 4 (45-50) category this time, he trained very well for the tournament and is sure to rack up the medals in due time.
Steveo, Matt and Joe are an inspiration to everybody at Brea Jiu-Jitsu!
With 4 matches, Bryan Clavecilla just took a bronze at the IBJJF Masters World Championships in the brown belt masters 2 middle heavy division!

One of the biggest names in Jiu-Jitsu, Joao Miyao is coming to Brea Jiu-Jitsu to give a seminar! The seminar will be held on June 6th at 6:00PM. This is the day after world championship finals, so if you are in town this works out perfectly! We are limiting to 35 people. The cost is $80.

Due to the pan ams, there will be no classes on Thursday so we can be out supporting Omar, John and Steveo. We will be having an open mat for adults at 7PM, but get to UCI to support them if you can!
